Psychotherapeutic Counselling with Grace Quantock

Hello, how do you do?

I’m Grace Quantock, MA, DipHIC (BCPC), Registered Member, UKCP.

I’m a psychotherapeutic counsellor with a Masters in Counselling and Psychotherapy Practice (with a focus on online somatic work).

I have a Diploma in Humanistic and Integrative Counselling.

I’m a registered member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy.

I offer an integrative counselling approach.

  • Psychotherapeutic counselling is the opportunity for you to talk about what's troubling you.

I am an integrative counsellor, which means my work is influenced by several different schools of thought.

    This includes:

    • Psychodynamic,

    • Humanistic and

    • Transpersonal.

My practice is intersectional and incorporates somatic reflections.

I work in a way that is client-led, creating a facilitative therapeutic relationship.

  • You can bring what difficulties, pains or issues you are experiencing – or have experienced previously.

The therapeutic hour (50 minutes) is your time and space.

A time where you don't have to take care of anyone else's needs, or focus on anyone but you.

I will be holding space for you, offering my attentive listening, and respect for what you share and working with you.

I hope to support you to explore and understand yourself, and resolve difficulties.

I hope we can move towards more productive and fulfilling ways of living.

  • I welcome LGBTIAQ+ clients and people with multiple marginalised, minoritised or oppressed identities.

I work with people with lives and bodies deemed complex. I have experience working with client who are/have/live:

    • LGBTIAQ+

    • Gender, sexual and relationship diversity

    • Chronic and invisible illness

    • Disabilities

    • Neurodivergence

    • Complex and intergenerational trauma

    • Medical trauma

    • Grief and bereavement

      …and lots more.

  • Psychotherapeutic counselling is offered at a sliding scale of £137 - £70 sliding scale for a 50 minute individual session.

So our fee will be agreed in our initial consultation and this will need to be paid at the end of each session.

I have one slot at Pay What You Can available for low income folks without access to financial support.

I review my fees annually. Payment can be via Kiku, Stripe, Wise or via BACS details below.

    Sliding Scale Fees

I use the Worts and Cunning Green Bottle Sliding Scale.

Check out the Green Bottle Sliding Scale here and see which bottle you fall into here.

I’ve drawn on the Green Bottle Sliding Scale to outline the tiers below.

The actual cost of a 50 minute session is £137 and reflects the full cost of a session.

This is taking into account my time/energy and the costs of running my business (tax, accountant fees, clinical supervision, insurance, professional registration, client management software and more).

If you have financial security such as owning your own home, having savings and being able to meet your basic needs and expendable income.

That means the resources to buy coffee/tea/a meal out, go to concerts, regularly buy new clothes and books and go on holiday then this is generally the tier for you.

People in this tier do not traditionally qualify for sliding scale pricing.

If it feels necessary, can you consider why you might be comfortable/and or willing to spend on other items, but not on mental health.

Or how spending on your mental health could be recognised as valuable and meaningful.

Between £100 and £70 recognises some people cannot access one-on-one therapy and pay full cost.

If you are struggling with debt or living paycheck to paycheck, with little financial cushion, but can meet your basic needs of food, shelter and care, then you may fit here.

Please be aware that you have access to community/family resources, please consider drawing on these before drawing on the sliding scale, which can limit opportunities for people who cannot draw on such resources.

I offer one Pay What You Can session a week.

I also offer one Free Psychotherapy Network session per week - that is, a session without any charge.

If these spaces are available, I will let people know in my The Healing in Tough Times Newsletter which you can sign up for here.

This tier is a recognition that unless an opportunity is created, many folks won’t be able to access tailored one-on-one therapeutic work at a cost that reflects their economic experience.

If you struggle to pay for housing, food and care, are living between paychecks or benefits payments and/or are in significant debt, this tier is for you.

You are as deserving of this therapeutic experience as anyone else and I’m glad to be able to offer it.

At every tier, I offer payment plans without additional charge, if that is helpful for you.

Please note in addition to one-on-one therapeutic work, I have a range of offerings at different price points including online classes, ebooks and audios.

  • You can learn more and book a session through my scheduling programme here.

  • I offer counselling sessions online via the secure video call platform Signal or phone or asynchronous sessions also via the secure app Signal. Signal is very similar to Whatsapp, but secure and confidential.

We can do online sessions where:

    • I’m in my confidential studio space in Wales

    • I call from a confidential outdoor location of my community garden space, if you want to incorporate nature, sensory and mindfulness elements into your online session.

I am a trained mindful movement and meditation facilitator.

I also offer counselling sessions in-person outdoors at: -

    • An outdoor community garden space in the South Wales valleys. This is a quiet, beautiful space with panoramic views and lots of plant life and wildlife. There is an accessible lavatory and parking.

    • A beautiful lake in South Wales, on the lake shore and accessible walking paths around the lake and woods. There are accessible lavatory, shower, changing room, parking and a cafe with outdoor seating on site.

I am Walk and Talk Therapy trained.

I will be masked, during in person sessions as an access adjustment for my impairments and as part of disability justice praxis.

I will most often be accompanied by my medical alert assistance dog in training, Wilfie who accompanies me for my safety. Wilfie is a whippet, he is highly trained and won’t interact with you, unless you invite that.

I am training to be able to offer accessible paddle therapy - therapeutic sessions offered through adapted kayaking or paddle-boarding at the lake, with lifeguard presence and buoyancy aids.

I also offer in person, indoor therapy, in a therapy room based in an arts centre in Cwmbran, South Wales.

    In-person safety precautions:

    • Windows open for ventilation,

    • In-room HEPA air filtration (Smart Air Blast Mini, Air Fanta),

    • Far-UV light, (Nukit Torch Far-UVC Lights)

    • Masks required in room, unless exempt. N95 masks offered (Cambridge Mask Co, non-valve)

    • Negative COVID test required

I will be wearing a positive pressure HEPA mask for the duration of the session (CleanSpace Halo Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) system).

Any questions about online, in-person, indoor or outdoor sessions, accessibility, Covid-caution or anything else, please just contact me.
