I think I annoy my health professionals. It’s just a feeling they may see me as a little ditzy or superficial (until I start on about Ph balance or calcium absorption, then they just seem bemused). This may be because whenever we are talking about mobility aids, crutches, splints, slings, hoists, adaptions; anything really, my first question is generally “What colour is it?”. This never seems to have been something they have come across before. Maybe it’s just me, maybe other people are busy being worried and scared in the hospital and think about these things later.   Is it still possible to dress for success if you are bed-bound? Yes! How does one make splints and mobility aids look good? We will make it happen. If you spend most of the day lying down and or in a wheelchair (mine is gorgeous metallic sapphire blue!) this impacts on the kind of clothes you can choose to wear. I firmly believe and am living the proof that it is possible to dress beautifully and creatively even when we have to take into consideration multiple physical disabilities. I love the BodyHeart campaign and heard about it through my friend and teacher Terri Cole.   BodyHeart helps to liberate women from their self-punishment prison.   You are photographed with a heart on your favourite body part. The difficulty of choosing a body part which you love and are willing to have photographed and displayed. I’m cheating a little bit here, these aren’t new photographs….today is our wedding anniversary so I had to post these. Beautiful days.
