Do you ever find that sleep eludes you? For something so vital, so many of us do not get nearly enough.  So often sleep can seem like time wasted, when the to-do list is growing and the world is moving onwards, who has time for snoozing in bed?  Have you ever stayed up an hour later – just to get that task finished off? How to live your own adventure story

Don’t wait until you feel up to it, you may never feel up to it. Begin now, adventure is calling you. You want adventure, but you don’t feel well enough to fly, dance or road-trip. I know, I hear you, and I have some ideas… Let me go back a little, and begin at least somewhere in the middle… I was resting on the beloved biomat listening to an audio book. In the study, under the window, listening to the birds outside. The flax-filled eye bag was smooth and cool over my face and I was tucked under lots of blankets and feeling very contented. Then my timer went off. It’s…

How I Escaped My To-Do List

I once moved to a new country on the basis that I’d found a friend who loved crossing things off to-do lists as much as I did. Ok, that’s not the whole truth, but it was a moment of revelation, the ‘it’s not just me’ experience. Connecting, community, solidarity and swelling, burgeoning joy. I really, really liked lists. My life was run by my to-do list and that was just the way I wanted it. This kept me efficient, productive and on track. I knew how to do lists, I knew how to work hard and be good at things. People joked that I was some kind of super-efficient robot…
